1. The short version

MOQ Exams is a competitive examination preparation app. To provide the service, we may need information such as your phone number, account/profile information, examination preferences, practice activity and test results.

Things worth knowing up front:

  • We do not sell your personal data. We do not sell it to advertisers, coaching centres, data brokers or other third parties.
  • We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs except for the service providers specifically described in this policy. This statement applies only if the production app contains no other analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • Your contacts are not retained for friend matching. When you choose the contact-matching feature, phone numbers may be processed for matching and are discarded after the matching operation, subject to technical logs or security records that may be retained where necessary.
  • Private chats are not routinely read by staff. Reported messages or content may be reviewed for moderation, safety, abuse prevention or legal compliance.
  • You can request or initiate account deletion from inside the app. Some information may remain where retention is required by law, necessary for legal claims, fraud prevention, security or other permitted purposes.

The rest of this policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who may receive it, how long we retain it and how you can exercise your privacy rights.

Some information is visible to other users by design. Depending on the feature and your settings, this may include your username, display name, profile photo, rank/tier, goal or exam post, leaderboard information and online/last-seen status.

Your phone number is not displayed to other users through normal app profiles.

Messages and posts are visible to their intended recipients or the members of the relevant group/community. Anything you intentionally post to a group may be visible to other members.

If MOQ Exams or the relevant business is merged, acquired, reorganised or transferred, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law. Where required, we will provide notice about material changes to how your personal data is handled.

6. The AI Study Assistant (AIRA)

AIRA is an AI-powered study assistant designed to answer study-related questions.

  • Your question and relevant earlier messages in the same AIRA conversation may be sent through our servers to a third-party AI model provider.
  • The default provider is Google Gemini. We may use Anthropic Claude as an alternative where configured. This policy will be updated if the provider list materially changes.
  • We send the conversation text and study context needed to answer the question. We do not intentionally send your phone number, payment data or unrelated conversations with other users as part of the AIRA request.
  • Your AIRA conversation history may be stored on our servers so that you can reopen the conversation.
  • You can delete individual AIRA conversations through the app where that functionality is available.
  • We do not use AIRA conversations to train our own AI models or intentionally provide them for third-party model training.
  • AIRA is intended for study assistance and may produce incorrect or incomplete information. Do not rely on AIRA alone for legal, medical, financial or examination-eligibility decisions.
  • Free daily usage may be subject to a quota. If additional usage requires coins, we record the usage necessary to enforce the quota and account for coin deductions.

Do not enter sensitive personal information into AIRA unless it is genuinely necessary for your study question.

7. Payments, coins and payouts

  • Payments: Payment transactions are processed using Razorpay. We receive payment-related information such as a payment reference, amount, status and payment method information required for the transaction. We do not store full card numbers, CVV, UPI PINs or net-banking credentials.
  • Coins (mcoins): Mcoins are in-app credits used for features such as paid group joins, locked study materials and additional AI usage. They are not legal tender and are not redeemable for money except where the app explicitly provides an eligible cash-prize feature.
  • Prize payouts: Eligible payouts may require a UPI ID or bank account information including IFSC, and may require PAN for applicable tax reporting.
  • Financial records: Payment and payout records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and other legal obligations.

8. Chat, groups and Voice Halls

  • Messages: Messages are delivered through our servers and may be cached locally on your device so chats can open quickly and support supported offline behaviour.
  • Group history: Access to group messages may depend on when a user joins and the group's configured history rules.
  • Server-side message retention: We retain server copies of messages only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the messaging service, maintain security, investigate abuse and comply with applicable legal obligations. Retention may vary by message type, feature and operational requirements.
  • Deleting a message: Deletion may remove or mark the message on supported surfaces, but recipients may already have viewed, copied, downloaded or captured the content.
  • Voice Halls: Voice Halls use LiveKit for real-time audio routing. We do not intentionally record Voice Halls as part of the normal service. Other participants may independently record audio using their own devices.
  • Moderation: We do not routinely read private chats. When content is reported, moderators may review the reported content and relevant surrounding context to investigate and take action.

9. Notifications

  • The in-app notification area may maintain a history of service events and notifications.
  • Push notifications may be controlled by category in the app settings where such controls are available.
  • Study reminders may be generated locally on your device where the app uses local scheduling.
  • Essential service communications, such as OTPs, payment confirmations and important account-security notices, may still be sent when necessary to provide the service or protect your account.

  • Your username/profile may stop appearing in active app surfaces.

13. Security

  • Traffic between the app and our servers is protected using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Authentication/session credentials are stored using platform-appropriate secure storage where supported.
  • On Android, the app may use FLAG_SECURE to restrict screenshots and screen recording. iOS has platform limitations and does not provide an equivalent universal blocking mechanism.
  • Files stored in the app's private device storage are separated according to the app's account/session architecture.
  • Authentication uses OTP and/or supported third-party sign-in rather than a traditional password system.
  • Production-data access by authorised staff is restricted according to operational needs and security controls.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we discover a personal-data breach, we will take the notification and remediation steps required by applicable law.

14. Children

MOQ Exams is intended for users aged 18 and above and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly permit persons under 18 to create or use accounts where age restrictions are applicable.

If we learn that personal data belonging to a child has been collected or processed in violation of applicable requirements, we will take appropriate steps to delete the information and/or restrict the account, subject to applicable law.

If you believe that a child has provided personal data to us, please contact moqexamtech@gmail.com.

15. Where your data is stored

Our servers, databases and file-storage services may be operated by cloud providers whose infrastructure is located inside or outside India. Some service providers, including AI and notification providers, may process information outside India.

Where personal data is transferred outside India, we will do so in accordance with applicable Indian law and any restrictions or safeguards that apply at the time of the transfer.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, our services, technology, providers or legal requirements change.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. If a change materially affects your privacy rights or significantly changes how we process personal data, we will provide additional notice where required.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
