What Determines the Group D Cut Off?

The actual cut-off is determined by the performance of candidates, the number of vacancies in each recruitment region, category-wise competition and the normalisation of marks across different examination shifts.

A lower number of vacancies does not automatically mean the cut-off will increase by a fixed number of marks. The selection threshold is determined by the distribution of normalised scores among candidates.

Minimum Qualifying Marks vs Selection Cut-Off

Candidates must understand the difference between minimum qualifying marks and the marks necessary for shortlisting to PET.

The notified minimum percentages are 40% for UR and EWS and 30% for OBC-NCL, SC and ST, subject to applicable recruitment rules. Meeting the minimum requirement does not guarantee shortlisting, because the actual PET cut-off may be considerably higher.
